Dark Algo EA Review MT4/MT5

Not Recommended Early Review MT4 / MT5 EURUSD, GBPUSD — grid with rising sizes $399 Verified 3 Nov 2026
Early Review: based on two real-money records of about 21 months (the seller's MT4 account made its first trade on 29 January 2025, his MT5 account on 6 February 2025). An Early Review is for a real-money record of at least 12 but less than 24 months, with at least 300 trades. It can come out Inconclusive or Not Recommended, but not Recommended, however good the record looks: we want two years before we recommend anything. The products have been on sale since January 2023; these are the records the seller publishes now. The MT5 record reaches 24 months on 6 February 2027: at our next quarterly re-verification after that we will re-read both histories and drop the Early Review label. Time alone does not lift a Not Recommended; what would change it is set out in the disclosures below.
Which product this is: Dark Algo by Marco Solito (DarkEAs), sold on the MQL5 Market as Dark Algo MT5 (product 92403) and Dark Algo for MT4 (product 92404), and on darkeas.com with both versions together. Not to be confused with other products using the "Dark" name.

The Bottom Line

Not Recommended. The Robotic Trader rates Dark Algo Not Recommended because both of the seller's real-money accounts trade a grid that adds bigger trades as the price moves against the open position. On the larger account (MT5, RoboForex), 461 trades in the closed history were each opened while another trade on the same pair, in the same direction, was still open: every one of the 461 was bigger than every such trade already open, and 459 were opened after the price had moved further against all of them (lower for buys, higher for sells). On the account the seller links from his website (MT4, Headway), the same pattern appears in 112 closed trades (all 112 bigger; 111 further against), and in a grid that was still open when we read it: 11 buys, from 0.01 lots up to 0.22, with an open loss of $586.26. Both accounts are named as Dark Algo on the seller's Myfxbook profile. On the MT5 account, the pattern continues in trades placed after the seller's major update of 27 May 2025 (our comparison counts from 1 June 2025); the records do not show which version placed them. Our methodology treats any grid, averaging or martingale pattern in the trade history as an automatic Not Recommended, whether or not the seller discloses it.

What "martingale" means here. The classic martingale doubles the size after every loss. Dark Algo's added trades mostly grow by a fixed amount at each step (usually 0.01 lot, sometimes 0.02). On the MT5 account, 230 of the 232 groups that added trades started with a doubling (0.01 to 0.02, or 0.02 to 0.04); on the MT4 account the steps are almost all 0.01 lot. The seller says: "My EA is not martingale; it does not double the position after each trade. My EA is a grid system." Our definition of martingale is size raised after a loss, or as a position moves against you; Dark Algo meets the second part. Grid or martingale, our rule treats both the same way.

What it means in practice. Adding bigger trades as the price moves against a position lets a group of trades close at a profit before the price gets back to where the first trade opened. On the closed records, no group with added trades closed at a loss, and every calendar month made a closed profit. The cost sits in the open losses while a group waits: Myfxbook's drawdown chart (end-of-day and growth measures) for the MT5 account peaks at 62.13% on 1 October 2026, while a 10-trade GBPUSD grid was open, and MQL5 shows a relative drawdown by equity of 52.63% on the MT4 account ($173.38, while that account was still small). The seller's FAQ says the take profit and stop loss are "hidden from the broker as a safety measure". At our check, open trades were $1,790.42 in loss on the MT5 account (positions opened after its 10-trade grid closed on 20 October; they are private) and $586.26 on the MT4 account: about 45% and 51% of each account's closed profit (our calculation).

The strongest case for it is real. Both records are real money, about 21 months long, and published by the seller on Myfxbook; the MT4 account is also an MQL5 signal. Every calendar month on both accounts made a profit on closed trades, the closed-trade profit factors are 3.00 and 3.79, and both accounts stay profitable without their best 10 days. The seller describes it openly as "a grid system" when asked.

What would change this verdict is set out in the disclosures below.

Methodology
ⓘ

Evaluation Methodology

We assessed Dark Algo as an Early Review. Its live records were about 21 months old when we read them, short of the 24 months a full review needs; see how we test.

What we read:

  • Both of the seller's real-money Myfxbook accounts and their full closed histories: MT5 (RoboForex) — 1,047 closed trades and 5 deposits; MT4 (Headway) — 398 closed trades and 4 deposits; both to 2 November 2026. Plus the MT4 account's open trades, which Myfxbook shows publicly, and Myfxbook's drawdown and growth charts.
  • The MQL5 signal for the MT4 account (Signal 2312403, "Dark Algo"), which the seller marks as related to the EA.
  • The product pages: both MQL5 listings, their input lists and update log, and the seller's own page on darkeas.com, including its FAQ.
  • What the seller has said: his posts on the Myfxbook discussion for the MT5 account (June 2025).
  • Reviews: MQL5 buyer reviews on the MT5 and MT4 product pages.

How we tested for a grid: we looked for trades opened on the same pair, in the same direction, while an earlier trade was still open. (No trade opened in the same minute as another on the same pair and direction.) For each, we checked whether it opened at a price below (for a buy) or above (for a sell) the opening price of every trade already open, meaning all of them were then in loss, and whether it was bigger than all of them. We call that "after the price had moved further against" the open trades. A group is a chain of same-pair, same-direction trades in which each trade after the first opened while an earlier trade in the chain was still open; a single trade is a group of one. On the MT5 account these comparisons use the closed history; its trades still open at our check are private, so they could not be included. On the MT4 account they also include the open trades, which are public.

Prop-firm test. The MQL5 description says "FTMO compatible", so our prop-firm test applies. We have not run it yet; it will use the seller's own settings (we never choose values ourselves), and we will add the result to this review as a dated entry.

Note. Figures were read on 3 November 2026. They are a dated snapshot, not a live feed.
  • Open trades: Myfxbook shows the MT4 account's open trades; the MT5 account's are private, so there we see only the total open loss (balance minus equity), not which trades or how old.
  • Our figures: figures marked "our calculation" come from the closed histories on Myfxbook. Profit figures are after swap (MT5: −$893.41; MT4: none charged) and commission (none charged).
  • Drawdown: Myfxbook and MQL5 each publish their own drawdown figures; where they differ we give both and do not combine them.
  • What the tracking shows: Myfxbook shows trading privileges verified on both accounts (the person who added them holds the master password) but the track record not verified, so Myfxbook has not confirmed that the histories it shows match the brokers' records. The MT4 account is also an MQL5 signal, which MQL5 has monitored since 30 May 2025. Neither platform shows which EA, version or settings placed the trades.
  • Testing: we did not run the EA ourselves; the prop-firm test above has not been run yet.

AccountReal money, USD, RoboForex, MetaTrader 5, leverage 1:500. On the seller's Myfxbook profile; trading privileges verified, track record not verified; open trades private. The seller's website does not link it.
Cash flowsOpening deposit $100 (6 February 2025); four further deposits totalling $4,597 (see "Deposits" below); no withdrawals. With the closed profit, that comes to the $8,672.28 balance Myfxbook showed. Equity was $6,881.86 at our check: open trades $1,790.42 in loss (20.6% of the balance, 26.0% of equity).
Growth figureMyfxbook shows a gain of 2,438.39%, which we do not use as our measure. Myfxbook calculates it as a time-weighted return, relating each trade's profit to the balance when that trade opened. It is not profit divided by money paid in: the account began with $100, and $3,797 of the $4,697 paid in arrived in October 2026.
DrawdownTwo Myfxbook figures that measure different things. Myfxbook's headline drawdown is 83.07%. Its help pages say the headline is the highest of three measures (end-of-day, intraday and growth drawdown) and that its drawdown chart uses only the end-of-day and growth measures. That chart peaks at 62.13% on 1 October 2026 (next highest: 56.48% on 14 October 2026; 43.18% on 15 July 2025). Myfxbook does not say which measure produced the 83.07% or when. If it occurred before 16 July 2025, it was on an account funded with $100. We publish both and do not combine them. The two largest spells came while large buy grids were open (GBPUSD, August–October 2026; GBPUSD and EURUSD, July 2025). By contrast the closed balance barely fell: because groups close together at a profit, the largest fall from a previous high was 0.36% (our calculation, counting trades that closed in the same minute together).
Per tradeBest +$394.82 (the grid's last and largest trade, 0.20 lots from 1.31862) and worst −$100.86 (its 0.08-lot trade from 1.34976), both closed on 20 October 2026 when the 10-trade GBPUSD grid closed. Each win averaged $8.27 and each loss $6.09.
ActivityAverage holding time 57.0 hours (our calculation); at least 16 trades open at once across the two pairs in the closed history.
By year (closed profit)2025 (from 6 February) +$1,727.69; 2026 to 2 November +$2,247.59. Every calendar month made a closed profit (22 months, counting February 2025 from the 6th and November 2026 to the 2nd).
By pairEURUSD 848 trades, +$1,823.65; GBPUSD 199 trades, +$2,151.63.
Lot sizes0.01 to 0.20 (our calculation).
ConcentrationThe best trade made 9.9% of net profit, the best 10 trades 52.6%, and the best 10 days 46.7%; without those 10 days the account still made +$2,120.78 (our calculation).

AccountReal money, USD, Headway, MetaTrader 4, leverage 1:500. Linked from darkeas.com as the "Dark Algo 3-Year Conservative Signal". Myfxbook: trading privileges verified, track record not verified; open trades public. The same account is a paid MQL5 signal (999 USD a month) that the seller marks as "related to the EA Dark Algo"; MQL5 shows "Started 2025.05.30", when the signal was registered — the earlier trades come from the account's own history. The trade count and dollar figures (profit, averages, best and worst trade) on Myfxbook and MQL5 match to the cent; the percentages do not, and we give each platform's own. The seller's Myfxbook profile lists the account twice: the listing his website links, which we read, shows a drawdown of 50.22%; the other shows 49.30%.
Cash flowsOpening deposit $100 (28 January 2025); three further deposits totalling $2,200 ($2,300 in all); no withdrawals. With the closed profit, that comes to the $3,457.07 balance. Equity $2,870.81 at our check: open trades $586.26 in loss (17.0% of the balance, 20.4% of equity). The open loss moves with prices; these three figures were read together.
Growth figureMyfxbook shows a gain of 623.43% and MQL5 677.12% (read 3 November 2026); we use neither, for the same reason as on the MT5 account.
SwapNone charged on this account (Myfxbook shows interest of $0; MQL5's log notes "No swaps are charged on the signal account"), although trades were held for weeks; on a standard account a buyer may pay swap. On the MT5 account swap cost $893.41, about 22% of its closed profit.
The grid open now11 EURUSD buys, opened from 10 September to 14 October 2026 at prices falling from 1.16122 to 1.11280, sized 0.01, 0.02, 0.03 … 0.10, then 0.22 lots; 0.77 lots in total. The first was 54 days old at our check.
DrawdownMQL5's relative drawdown by equity is 52.63% ($173.38); by balance, 27.34% ($53.63); MQL5's "Maximum drawdown" shows 52.6%; Myfxbook's figure is 50.22%. MQL5 does not say when the 52.63% occurred, but the dollar figure shows it came while the account was small (about $330 at its high, our calculation), not on today's balance. In October 2026 MQL5 repeatedly flagged "High current drawdown indicates the absence of risk limitation": the signal's log records the warning being cleared 14 times between 5 and 29 October.
Per tradeBest +$81.78, worst −$33.46. Each win averaged $4.91 and each loss $5.33.
ActivityAverage holding time 46.7 hours (our calculation).
By year (closed profit)2025 +$636.80; 2026 to 2 November +$520.27. Every calendar month made a closed profit (23 months, counting January 2025 from the 29th and November 2026 to the 2nd).
Pair and sizesEURUSD only; closed trades 0.01 to 0.06 lots, open trades up to 0.22.
ConcentrationThe best 10 trades made 40.1% of net profit and the best 10 days 38.8%; without those days, +$708.40 (our calculation).

How the EA Trades — What the Histories Show

What the seller says:

Strategy (MQL5)"a fully automatic Expert Advisor for Scalping Trading on Eurusd and Gbpusd", built on "a sophisticated algorithm that allows it to identify and follow market trends"; H1 by default; inputs for Stochastic and ATR settings, money management, "Max Number of Orders", "Fifo Closing" and "Allow Buy and Sell at Same Time". The published input list does not name a grid, a distance between trades, or a lot multiplier.
When asked (Myfxbook, 15 June 2025)"My EA is not martingale; it does not double the position after each trade. My EA is a grid system. (open multiple positions at the same time)".
Stops (darkeas.com FAQ)"The TP (take profit) and SL (stop loss) are hidden from the broker as a safety measure".
Set-up (MQL5)"The minimum Leverage is 1:20 and the minimum deposit 1000 usd"; darkeas.com says "All Set Files Included".
The 27 May 2025 update (version 2.0)"The overall strategy has been modified for better stability, and the GBPUSD pair has been added."

What the MT5 history shows (all 1,047 trades, our calculation):

Adding to losing positions461 trades were opened on the same pair and in the same direction while an earlier trade was still open; 459 of them after the price had moved further against every trade already open.
Bigger at each stepAll 461 were bigger than every earlier same-pair, same-direction trade still open. 414 steps added 0.01 lot, 45 added 0.02, and one each added 0.03 and 0.04. Of the 232 groups that added trades, 230 started with a doubling (0.01 to 0.02, or 0.02 to 0.04).
How deepUp to 10 trades open on one pair and direction. The deepest group: 10 GBPUSD buys from 24 August to 1 October 2026, at prices falling from 1.36346 to 1.31862 and sizes rising 0.02, 0.04 … 0.20 — 1.10 lots in total, the last trade ten times the size of the first; all closed together on 20 October 2026 for a net profit of $448.93.
No group with added trades closed at a loss586 groups in all; the only one that closed at a net loss was a single trade (−$1.41, April 2025). Individual trades did lose (326 of them), but the rest of each group made up the loss.
Before and from the June 2025 cut-off290 added trades opened before 1 June 2025 (288 both bigger and further against); 171 from that date, all 171 bigger and further against. This is a date-based comparison after the 27 May update, not a verified comparison of versions.
Buys and sells together126 trades were opened while a trade in the opposite direction on the same pair was open.
Close order5 trades closed while an earlier trade on the same pair, in the same direction, was still open.

What the MT4 history shows (398 closed trades plus the 11 open, our calculation):

Closed112 added trades, all 112 bigger than every trade already open, 111 also further against; 109 steps of 0.01 lot and 3 of 0.02; up to 6 trades open in one direction; none of its 63 groups with added trades closed at a loss.
OpenThe 11-trade EURUSD buy grid described above — each of the 10 added trades bigger than, and opened below, every trade before it; the last step jumped from 0.10 to 0.22 lots.
Buys and sells together94 closed trades were opened while an opposite-direction trade was open, and the account closed sells in September–November 2026 while the buy grid was open.
Close orderNo closed trade closed while an earlier trade on the same pair, in the same direction, was still open.

That is a grid with rising sizes: what our methodology calls an averaging and martingale pattern.

Deposits

Both histories show the following deposits (our calculation; trades open counted from the closed history plus, for MT4, the open trades):

AccountDateDepositTrades open at the time (from the histories we could see)
MT56 Feb 2025+$100 (opening)0
MT516 Jul 2025+$80010 (0.34 lots: GBPUSD and EURUSD buys)
MT55 Oct 2026+$80010 (1.10 lots: the GBPUSD buy grid)
MT512 Oct 2026+$1,997 and +$1,00010 (the same grid)
MT428 Jan 2025+$100 (opening)0
MT41 Jul 2025+$3005
MT427 Jan 2026+$7006
MT412 Oct 2026+$1,20010 (the EURUSD buy grid now open)

In total: MT5 $4,697 in, MT4 $2,300 in, no withdrawals. All seven top-ups were made while trades were open. On 12 October 2026 both accounts were topped up ($2,997 into MT5, $1,200 into MT4), each while a buy grid was open; the MT5 grid closed eight days later with a net profit of $448.93, and the MT4 grid was still open on 3 November. Two days later the MT4 account opened its largest trade, 0.22 lots, more than double the previous 0.10; the money-management inputs can size trades from the balance, and the records do not show whether the deposit played a part. We cannot see the open loss or margin at each deposit, so we draw no conclusion about why they were made. Deposits matter here because the headline percentage returns are not the profit earned on the money paid in, and because a percentage drawdown reads smaller on a larger balance; we therefore give deposits, closed profit and equity separately. On 17 June 2025 the seller wrote of the MT5 account: "In my current Myfxbook account there is 1 single deposit" — true then; four more followed. Both accounts began with $100, a tenth of the "minimum deposit 1000 usd" the product page recommends.

Time Below a High, and How Long Groups Stayed Open

We publish the longest, because averages hide them; see our methodology.

Longest closed groupMT5 — 96.7 days (9 EURUSD buys, 12 May to 17 August 2026, sizes 0.02 to 0.18; the first five closed at losses, the group at +$444.06). MT4 — 26.7 days.
Open nowThe MT4 buy grid, 54 days old at our check (first trade 10 September 2026); it reaches 90 days on 9 December 2026 if still open. The MT5 account's open trades are private.
Longest time below a previous highOn Myfxbook's equity-growth curve for the MT5 account, 62 days (28 May to 29 July 2026). On closed profit (deposits left out), 31.7 days on MT5 and 20.8 days on MT4 (our calculation). Closed-profit measures miss open losses.
Against the 90-day ruleThis verdict does not depend on it; it rests on the grid. The rule is about a floating loss left unrecovered for 90 days, and the records cannot settle it. The first trade of the May–August 2026 MT5 group was held 96.7 days; every later trade in the group opened below it, so it was in loss each time a trade was added and when it closed (with the next four, at a loss), but the history does not show the periods in between. The oldest open MT4 trade was 54 days old at our check and reaches 90 days of age on 9 December 2026; age alone would not show a 90-day unrecovered loss. (The MT5 equity-growth curve was never below a previous high for more than 62 days; that is an account-level measure, not the recovery of a single trade or group.)

What the Sales Pages Say, and What the Records Show

"Dark Algo 3-Year Conservative Signal" and "3 Years of Live Signal" (darkeas.com)The linked account made its first trade on 29 January 2025, about 21 months before our read, so it does not itself show three years. The seller has said an earlier three-year signal ended when "xChief broker … closed my account" and MQL5 removed it for inactivity; that record is no longer published.
"Low Drawdown" (darkeas.com)MQL5 shows 52.63% relative drawdown by equity on that account, and Myfxbook 50.22%.
"Fully Verified MyFxBook" (darkeas.com)Myfxbook shows trading privileges verified but the track record not verified on both accounts.
"Scalping Trading" (MQL5)Average holds of 57.0 hours (MT5) and 46.7 hours (MT4), and groups open up to 96.7 days.
"FTMO compatible" (MQL5)Not yet tested. Prop-firm accounts limit daily and overall losses, counting open losses; a grid's open losses are what such limits measure.
"minimum deposit 1000 usd" (MQL5)Both of the seller's accounts started with $100.

Price and Licence Terms

Price$399 on the MQL5 Market, MT5 and MT4 sold separately ("Last copy at 399$ -> next price 499$"); rental 349 USD for 1 month or 379 USD for 3 months. Version 2.20 (5 February 2026), 10 activations; published 15 January 2023. A free demo is available on MQL5.
darkeas.com$399 (5 licences, MT4 and MT5) or $599 "Dark Algo+" (10 licences); "All Set Files Included".
Offer on the MQL5 page"If you Buy this Expert Advisor you can write a feedback at market and get a second EA for Free" (see "Independent reviews" below).
Recommended setupH1; EURUSD and GBPUSD; minimum leverage 1:20; minimum deposit $1,000 (MQL5). The seller's FAQ recommends RoboForex as the broker.
US brokers (FIFO, no hedging)No, as run. Both accounts held buys and sells on the same pair at the same time (126 trades on MT5 and 94 on MT4 were opened while an opposite-direction trade was open), which US no-hedging rules do not allow. Separately, 5 MT5 trades closed out of opening order; we have not assessed them against the rule's exceptions. The inputs include "Fifo Closing" and an option to stop buys and sells at the same time, and the seller's FAQ says FIFO settings are "usually" included; we have not established how the EA trades with them set, and neither record shows a US-compatible configuration.
Prices recorded3 November 2026.

Key Evaluation Criteria

  • ❌ No grid, averaging, martingale or recovery strategy: failed. On MT5, all 461 added trades in the closed history were bigger than every same-direction trade already open and 459 were opened after the price had moved further against them; on MT4, all 112 closed added trades were bigger and 111 further against, and an 11-trade grid was open at our check.
  • ⚠️ Stop losses: the seller says the stop loss and take profit are "hidden from the broker". Neither record shows a stop closing a grid at a loss; we cannot tell where, or whether, one is set.
  • ❌ Drawdown in line with the marketing: "Low Drawdown" against 52.63% (MQL5) and 50.22% (Myfxbook) on the linked account; on the MT5 account Myfxbook states 83.07% (the highest of its three drawdown measures; it does not say when) and its drawdown chart peaks at 62.13%.
  • ✅ Profit survives without the best days: without its best 10 days the MT5 account still made +$2,120.78 (MT4: +$708.40), although those days produced 46.7% and 38.8% of the profit, and the best 10 MT5 trades 52.6%.
  • ❌ Claims match the record: the linked account does not show the "3-Year" record (the seller says an earlier signal is no longer published), and "Low Drawdown" and "Fully Verified MyFxBook" do not match it; "Scalping" is hard to reconcile with holds averaging two days and groups open up to 96.7 days. ("FTMO compatible" is claimed but not yet tested by us.)
  • ⚠️ No wipeout or near-wipeout: none on closed balance; but drawdown figures above 50% on both accounts, with deposits made while grids were open.
  • ⚠️ Real-money record: about 21 months on both accounts, 1,047 and 398 trades. That qualifies for an Early Review but is short of the 24 months a Recommended verdict needs.
  • ⚠️ Third-party tracked record: both accounts on Myfxbook with trading privileges verified but the track record not verified; MQL5 has tracked the MT4 account only since 30 May 2025.
  • ⚠️ No floating loss unrecovered beyond 90 days: not established from the records. One MT5 trade was held 96.7 days and closed at a loss; the history does not show when its loss began or whether it recovered in between. The oldest open MT4 trade reaches 90 days of age on 9 December 2026.

Suitability & Risks

What's Genuinely Positive
  • ✅Two real-money records of about 21 months, both published by the seller.
  • ✅A closed profit in every calendar month on both accounts (closed trades only; open losses are not counted).
  • ✅Closed-trade profit factors of 3.00 and 3.79; both accounts stay profitable without their best 10 days.
  • ✅The seller says plainly, when asked, that it is "a grid system".
Key Risks
  • ⚠️Grid with rising sizes: losing positions are added to at bigger sizes. A steady trend against the open trades is the scenario that makes the losses grow; the records show up to 11 trades in one grid (MT4, still open) and up to 1.10 lots (MT5). The inputs include "Max Number of Orders"; the published input list gives no value for it, and no record shows what limit, if any, was set.
  • ⚠️Open losses: drawdown figures above 50% on both accounts. At our check the MT5 account had an open loss of $1,790.42 (its open trades are private) and the 11-trade MT4 grid an open loss of $586.26.
  • ⚠️Leverage: both accounts run at 1:500; the product page's minimum is 1:20. At lower leverage the same grid uses far more margin.
  • ⚠️Stops hidden from the broker: per the seller, the stop loss is held by the EA rather than placed with the broker. We have not verified whether stops were set on these accounts, or at what level; protection held by the EA depends on the EA and its connection working.
  • ⚠️Deposits and grids: both accounts were topped up while grids were open; the records do not show what would have happened without those deposits.
  • ⚠️US traders: not usable as run (hedged positions).
  • ⚠️Prop firms: unproven until our test has run.

Important Disclosures

Verification History
3 November 2026 — Published as an Early Review (records of about 21 months), Not Recommended.
  • What we read: both of the seller's Myfxbook accounts and their full closed histories, the MT4 account's open trades, MQL5 Signal 2312403, both MQL5 product pages and the update log, darkeas.com and its FAQ, the seller's Myfxbook posts, and MQL5 buyer reviews.
  • Not yet done: our prop-firm test. It will be added here as a dated entry.
  • To check at re-verification: whether the MT4 buy grid open on 3 November 2026 has closed, and how.
  • Our policy: we do not edit published figures to track current values. We add dated entries here instead.
What would change this verdict.
  • The strategy: the verdict rests on the grid. A real-money record of at least 24 months and 300 trades from a clearly documented configuration that shows no grid, averaging, martingale or recovery pattern would be assessed on its own merits.
  • The Early Review label: the MT5 record reaches 24 months on 6 February 2027. At our next quarterly re-verification after that date we will re-read both histories and remove the label. Time alone does not lift a Not Recommended for a grid.
Independent reviews
  • MQL5 buyer reviews (MT5 page, read 3 November 2026): rated 4.63 from 103 reviews (the MT4 page shows 4.67 from 70). Most ratings are positive. Critical ones include: "Very risky EA … after losing 14k" (April 2025); "The ea is risky" (October 2025); and a buyer who reported an account "blown" on 8 March 2025 during a sharp EURUSD rise, on the lowest risk settings. The seller's MT5 record shows no large closed loss and no deposit at that time (the account then held a $100 deposit and ran the version before 27 May 2025); that buyer's account and settings are unknown. A buyer in April 2026 reported using it with a US broker on the FIFO setting.
  • "Over 150 positive reviews" (darkeas.com): the two MQL5 pages show 173 ratings in total; we have not counted how many are positive.
  • Incentive: the product page offers a second EA free to buyers who leave a review. We cannot tell which reviews, if any, were left under that offer.
  • How we use reviews: individual reviews are users' accounts, not facts we have verified, and they play no part in the verdict.
Affiliate disclosure. The seller's own store, darkeas.com, sells Dark Algo and runs a store-wide affiliate programme that, according to the store, pays 20% to 50% commission on sales depending on volume, with instant approval (darkeas.com/partnership, read 3 November 2026). Our current verdict is Not Recommended (Early Review), and an Early Review cannot be Recommended. If a later review rated Dark Algo Recommended, we could join the programme and earn commission through our links. We have not joined it, and no link on this page is an affiliate link. Under our methodology we only apply to a programme after an Expert Advisor has been rated Recommended. We have no commercial relationship with the seller or with MQL5. We did not contact the seller before publication; this assessment rests on material the seller, Myfxbook and MQL5 publish.

Risk warning. Trading foreign exchange and contracts for difference carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all invested capital. Automated trading does not remove that risk; it removes the delay between a decision and its execution. Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dark Algo EA a scam?
We have seen no evidence of fraud, and we do not call it one. The seller publishes two real-money accounts on Myfxbook and an MQL5 signal, and, when asked, says openly that the EA is "a grid system". Our verdict rests on the strategy's risk, not on honesty; we also publish where sales claims do not match the records.
Why is Dark Algo EA rated Not Recommended?
Because both of the seller's real-money accounts show a grid that adds bigger trades as the price moves against the open position. On the MT5 account, all 461 added trades in the closed history were bigger than every same-direction trade already open, and 459 were opened after the price had moved further against them; the MT4 account shows the same pattern, including an 11-trade grid open when we read it. Our methodology treats any grid, averaging or martingale pattern in the trade history as an automatic Not Recommended.
Does Dark Algo use martingale?
By our definition, yes. The seller says it does not double after each trade. After the first step it is mostly true: added trades usually grow by 0.01 or 0.02 lot, although the grid open on the MT4 account jumped from 0.10 to 0.22. But on the MT5 account 230 of 232 groups began with a doubling (0.01 to 0.02, or 0.02 to 0.04), and in every group size rose as the position moved against it, which meets our definition of martingale. The seller calls it "a grid system"; our rule treats grids and martingales the same way.
Why is this an Early Review?
Because the records were about 21 months old when we read them: the MT4 account made its first trade on 29 January 2025 and the MT5 account on 6 February 2025. An Early Review is for a real-money record of at least 12 but less than 24 months, with at least 300 trades; it can come out Inconclusive or Not Recommended, but not Recommended. At our next quarterly re-verification after 6 February 2027 we will re-read both histories and drop the label. Time alone does not lift a Not Recommended.
Are the Dark Algo live accounts real?
Myfxbook lists both as real-money accounts on the seller's profile (RoboForex MT5 and Headway MT4), and the MT4 account is also MQL5 Signal 2312403. Myfxbook shows trading privileges verified (account control) but the track record not verified on both, so it has not confirmed the histories against the brokers' records; MQL5 has monitored the MT4 account since 30 May 2025. Neither platform shows which EA, version or settings placed the trades. The seller's website calls the MT4 account a "3-Year" signal; its history begins on 29 January 2025 (the seller says an earlier three-year signal is no longer published).
Is the MT5 version covered?
Yes. Both are rated Not Recommended. The seller's MT5 account is the larger of the two records, and the MT4 account is the one his website links; both show the same grid.
Is Dark Algo good for prop firm challenges?
Unproven. The MQL5 description says "FTMO compatible", but a grid holds its losses open, and prop firms count open losses against their daily and overall limits; both accounts show drawdown figures above 50%. We have not yet run our own prop-firm test; the result will be added to this review.
Can I use Dark Algo with a US broker?
Not as run on the seller's accounts. Both held buys and sells on the same pair at the same time, which US no-hedging rules do not allow. The settings include a FIFO option and the seller says FIFO settings are "usually" included; we have not established how the EA trades with them set, and neither record shows a US-compatible configuration.
